Had an interview on Insanity Radio – the community FM radio station in Egham & Surrey, originally the student station for Royal Holloway, University of London. I was very happy to be on the show – these guys really know their Green Onions! Check it out – the interview starts around 1:12:07.
In 2010, after the results of the general election which bought a coalition government to Britain, Wilsoni Tha’ Funk Masta wrote a song called ‘Stand Up and Be Recognised’. Well, it’s five years later and Britain faces another coalition, and millions of people don’t know who to vote for because every single party causes doubt.
It was tight, but they managed to squeeze it in for the election. It’s quite a heartfelt piece too.
Today is May Day – International Workers Day, and next week in the UK on May 7th we have a neck-and-neck bitterly fought Election coming up.
With that in mind, I urge people to STAND UP & BE RECOGNISED!
This song was written in outrage at the circumstances surrounding the result of the last election in 2010 – and things have since got worse! Share if you believe, share if you agree – share if you’re angry!
Available now from Bandcamp, and most major digital distributors imminently. Expect Pt. 2 of this EP in the next few weeks…
After being played on The BBC Introducing Mixtape on the 6th April, Tom picked the track to feature on his regular BBC 6 Music show last Saturday! Here’s the link – the song gets played around 1hr 3mins in:

Mr. Robinson had some kind words, too!
“…an immaculate, beautiful, grooving track that we really ought to pass on to Craig Charles…”
The long overdue official debut from Wilsoni Tha’ Funk Masta, the Strange People EP is now available anywhere you can think of as a digital download or stream!
If you’re digging on it, support the artist direct and buy from Bandcamp.
The lead single features Soul Diva in-the-making Leanne Robinson, and has been a long time coming – so I hope you dig it!
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
I’m excited to announce that the 3rd track of my debut EP “Empowerful Strut – WYSIWYG” received it’s first airplay on Amazing Radio – available on DAB in London and Dublin, and streamed online – a digital station created to broadcast new unsigned artists from a pool of material uploaded to their Amazing Tunes platform.
The track was featured on The Simon Raymonde Show yesterday (who was in Cocteau Twins, no less!), and you can listen again here (my track appears around the 1:20 mark – but there’s an excellent selection of tunage across the board, which I will certainly be investigating!).
This is my first official Wilsoni radio play, so I’m pretty chuffed. 😀
